Orlando cosplayer @MissTaurus.cosplay_and_art is a rising cosplay star in Florida, having recently won Best in Show awards in 2021 at Megacon Orlando for her cosplay of Samurai Glaceon in Pokemon (below left), and at Omni Fandom Expo in Orlando for Ahoy in Horizon Zero Dawn (below right). In fact, she has won nearly 20 cosplay awards at Florida cons since beginning cosplaying in 2013.
@MissTaurus.Cosplay_and_Art is inspired by the creativity of cosplay
Like many talented cosplayers, @MissTaurus.Cosplay_and_Art is inspired by the creativity involved in crafting a detail-specific costume that leaves fans in awe. “I love creating and designing cosplays from anime, comic books and video game characters that blow away people,” she said, noting “I am a huge fan of the creativity that creators bring from their favorite fandoms.”
And it’s not just the creativity in crafting the cosplay, but also the imagination and acting involved in assuming the characters’ personalities. “Portraying these characters is lots of fun!”
In addition, she has more than 30 cosplays on her shelf (which means it must be a big shelf!) As examples of her cosplay range, first row below is the Little Mermaid from Sparta, second row is Skarlet from Mortal Combat, and third row below is Spyro from Skylanders.
She learned the basics in art school
@MissTaurus.Cosplay_and_Art credits her art school education at Sandford Brown College — which included draping, sewing, tailoring and illustration — for preparing her for cosplay. “My education really did help me a lot,” she said.
She initially attended art school to become a fashion designer, but her passion for costuming led her toward cosplay. “I love creating my own characters and the costumes that adorn them,” she said. Cosplays below are first row below Cetrion from Mortal Kombat, and second row is Poison Ivy.

@MissTaurus.Cosplay_and_Art is a St. Pete Comic Con 2022 Cosplay Guest
The talented cosplayer will be at St. Pete Comic Con on January 8-9, 2022, at the historic Coliseum located in downtown St. Petersburg. St. Pete Comic Con 2022 is a two-day, multi-genre comic convention in St. Petersburg that features comics, anime, science fiction and fantasy talent, along with a guest roster of Florida’s top cosplayers. Tickets include single day for $20, and weekend pass for $30.
St. Pete Comic Con 2022 attendees can meet @MIssTaurus.Cosplay_and_Art at her booth. In addition, she is participating in two panels: ‘Comic Con 101″ and “Cosplay Q&A with the experts.”
