3 Wonderful Reasons to Attend WasabiCon

WasabiCon is a stunning two-day anime and gaming convention in Jacksonville, Florida on October 15-16, 2022. The convention is hosted at the Prime F. Osborn III Convention Center which is conveniently located close to many popular dining options. WasabiCon offers a fantastic line-up of celebrity guests, over 300 vendors, thrilling panels, and fun games for attendees to enjoy. With such a jam-packed schedule, there is something to do around every twist and turn of this event! Convention hours are Saturday from 10 a.m. – 12 a.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Wonderful Reason #3: Guests

Firstly, presenting 5 incredible voice actors, WasabiCon gives attendees the chance to come face-to-face with the voices of beloved anime characters! Additionally all media guests will be participating in celebrity Q&As throughout the weekend, be sure to keep an eye out for the schedule.

Wonderful Reason #2: Maid Café Mikkusu

In addition Maid Café Mikkusu, an authentic Akihabara style maid café, has made its way to Jacksonville, Florida! If you’ve never visited a maid café before, it’s a charming and unique experience. The event includes a cute meet-and-greet with the maids, a short stage performance, small snacks, a gift from your maid, and other immersive elements. Guests will be able to relax at the café on both Saturday and Sunday. Separate ticketing is required to enter the event, tickets are $35 and are available for online purchase here. The maid café operates on reservations, so be sure to reserve a spot soon!

Wonderful Reason #1: Main Events

WasabiCon also provides an outstanding line-up of panels, competitions, and programming throughout the weekend. Check out great competitions, such as the costume contest and Lip Sync Battle. The costume contest lets contestants can strut their stuff and showcase their hard-work! Registration begins at 3 p.m. on Saturday in Panels A Room 106. The actual event begins at 4:30 p.m. in the North Ballroom. Another event to put on the must-see list is WasabiCon’s Lip Sync Battle. Participants have the opportunity to bring characters to life and give the audience a spectacular show. Registration begins Sunday at 2 p.m. in Panel Room 106, so dust off your dancing shoes and grab the mic to show off your inner star! The Lip Sync Battle will be Sunday at 3:30 p.m. in the North Ballroom.

WasabiFest:

Additionally, the convention also has their own Idolfest, aptly titled WasabiFest, hosted by idols Nova and Lorien. The event will feature different idol groups or soloists from across Florida. WasabiFest promises to give guests an amazing experience full of incredible heart-warming performances. The idol event takes place Saturday at 3 p.m. in the Mini Events room.

WasabiCon’s own Idolfest! This idol showcase features some of the best idol groups and soloists in the Sunshine State. Hosted by Florida idols Nova and Lorien, WasabiFest promises to give an amazing experience full of performances that will make your heart soar. Grab your penlights and let's gooo! Itasha Car Show:

Next up on the list to check out at the convention is the Itasha car show, hosted by Anime Cars of the World. Itasha are cars decorated with characters from anime, manga, or video games. WasabiCon will have the Itasha showcased in the exhibitors hall. Moreover, if you have an Itasha and are interested in displaying it at the convention, you can submit your application here.

WasabiCon is partnering with Anime Cars of the World to showcase Itasha Cars at this year's convention! Senpai Squad After Party:

Last but definitely not least, for older fans of the convention, the Senpai Squad is hosting an after party Saturday night from 8:30 p.m. – 12 a.m. in the Main Events Ballroom. Featuring guests such as Karrigan Taylor and DJ Kyon! Separate ticketing is required to enter the event. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased here. Importantly, attendees must be 18+ years of age for this event.
