Spooky Empire is a frightening 3-day horror convention on October 21-23, 2022. Taking place at the grand Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, this event will have guests chilled to the bone with fright! The convention is well-known for its world class horror vendors, guests, and entertainment. But attendees beware…you’re in for a scare!

Convention hours are Friday 1 p.m. – 9 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m. – 8 p.m., and Sunday 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Chilling Reason #2: Featured Events

Zombie Walk

Crawling out of the grave and straight to a convention near you, Spooky Empire’s Zombie Walk returns! The event will start Friday at 12:00 p.m. at The Pub on International Drive. And for a small fee, makeup artists will be on hand to make participants look drop-dead gore-geous! Join the horde and receive a free pint of Elysian Space Dust beer. So, are you ready for this apocalyptic event? The walk will begin at 3 p.m. and will swarm the streets from International Drive to the Convention Center.

WITCHES BALL

Also, Spooky Empire has partnered with Tea and Tarot Emporium & Events and StoryTailors to present the Witches Ball all weekend. This event is a gothic dance party and live stage show. The event is themed “Saturday’s Song” to give everyone a look into the gothic world of witches as they welcome new initiates from covens all over the world. Perfect for ghouls, witches and goblins alike, this event will have guests off the edge of their seats and on the dance floor!

Each day of the ball will require separate admission. Friday starts out as an immersive dance party with live music, drink specials, and exclusive vendors. From 1:00 p.m. – 6 p.m. The Ball will be open to all Spooky Empire Attendees but starting at 8:00 p.m. the after party will begin. Afterwards admission to the party is $40. the night will come to a close at 11 p.m.

Additionally Saturday will present the Witches Conclave Cabaret from 11 p.m. – 1 a.m. This event costs $20 to attend, but VIP passholders will be granted free entry.

Furthermore Sunday will come to a close with Saturday’s Song: A Witchy Musical Performance from 12:p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Admission is $20.

Escape Room

Moreover Spooky Empire gives attendees the chance to be chilled and thrilled with two pop up escape games in haunting themes that are fun, immersive and creative. Haunted Hints escape rooms are back and more spooky than ever before, with a theme of: “Out of The Woods, Into The Fear” because this event will have guests running for the hills! The games are family-friendly and recommended for guests 8 and up. Guests are challenged to find 5 missing words in 5 minutes, with a hidden twist, but you’ll have to check out this event to find out the handicap.

It should be noted that separate ticketing is required to enter the games, tickets are $12 and are available online or can be purchased with cash at the door. Event will be located on the 3rd Level of the West Concourse, Room W330A.

Chilling Reason #1: Festivals

Tattoo Festival

Thirdly, the Tattoo Festival is a Spooky Empire tradition! The festival features over 110 artists, each with their own unique style. Each artist can be found on the Spooky Empire website. Participants will need to head to the artists’ individual Instagram to see who is the right fit. Importantly, appointments must be booked with artists ahead of time on their own site.

Tattoo Festival hours are Hours: Friday 1 p.m. – 11 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m. – 11 p.m., and Sunday 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.

 

Film Festival

Finally we’re calling all freaks, geeks, and everything in-between to Spooky Empire’s Horror Film Festival! This event brings guests a chance to watch the most spooky, gore filled and terrifying short and feature-length horror films. With more than just showings, attendees will also have the opportunity to meet the filmmakers, stop by the Q&As, and check out the awards ceremony. The full viewing schedule can be found here.

The Film Festival will run from 1 p.m. – 11:30 p.m. on Friday, 11 a.m. – 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, and 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Sunday.
